While we all know how good golf is for everyone, including and especially the elderly, the question remains -- is sports actually good for them? Or is getting into rigorous physical activity disaster waiting to happen. First things first. Safety should be the primary consideration for everybody, regardless of age, in all sports. That said, if the elderly are looking to engage in sports, safety should always come first. They should consult a physician before taking up any physical activity. They should also wear the proper equipment such as knee and arm braces. If cleared by their doctor and with ample preparation, we see no reason the elderly shouldn’t exercise.
